Wte Thunder vs Thistle Fury 1-8
Played Saturday 25th June 2011
Played at Centennial School, Waimate at 10.00am
Player of the day: Edward
Coach Tim said, "I was really pleased with my players' effort through both halves of the game.
The best way to stay warm is to keep running!
With a little bit of luck in the second half we could have scored a couple more goals and put them under pressure. Well done to Elkan, scoring a fine individual goal. Congratulations to Edward, our player of the day, you stuck to your man marking with great enthusiasm, well done.
Special thanks to Sudarshan and Hannah for stepping up to 10th grade, you are now honorary Thunders!"

Wte Warriors vs Highland Thistle 9-4
Played on Saturday 18th June 2011
Played at 10:00am at Sir Basil Arthur Park, Timaru
Player of the day: Jordan
Coach Pam said, "We had a keen team of five taken to Timaru to play against Highland Thistle. The other team only had three players so borrowed Jack from our team. Apparently the Warriors played a great game with our passing practice paying off with some great team work and again, a lot of goals scored!
Jack showed great sportsmanship playing his best for the opposition. Jordan scored once for the Warriors and then played for The Highland Thistle and scored three goals for them. Like I said before the Warriors scored some great team goals with Taine scoring two this week, Flynn scoring one and doing some great attacking and Daniel with some great support play getting five goals this week. So the final score was 9-4."

Played at Centennial School, Waimate at 10.00am
Player of the day: Laney
Coach Tim said, "We came up against another skilled West-End team yesterday, who really showed off their passing skills in the second half. Having said that we spent a good amount of time in their half and with a bit of luck the score could have been a lot closer. The skills we have been working on at practice have started to pop up in our games which is pleasing, and we will continue to work on these on Tuesday. Congratulations to Laney as player of the day, your passing has improved heaps, well done."

Wte Warriors vs Pareora 9-1
Played Saturday 11th June 2011
Played at Centennial School, Waimate at 10.00am
Player of the day: Jack
Coach Pam said, "This week saw the Warriors take on the 6th grade Pareora team. As Pareora had 8 players and we had 6, we decided to play 6 on 6. It was another strong game by the Warriors with many goals scored and also many stopped on their way, by a very strong defensive effort from the Pareora players.
We managed to get 9 goals this week scored by Flynn (4) Daniel (3) Jack(1) and Jordy (1). Johnny and Taine once again fantastic on defence, without your back up the score would definitely see our opposition with more goals to their tally! Pareora did get a good goal from near halfway to make the final score 9-1. Another great effort boys, well done."
Wte Torpedoes vs Geraldine Black 1-2
Played on Saturday 11th June 2011
Played at Sir Basil Arthur Park, Timaru at 10.40am.
Player of the day: Jonathan
Coach Rochelle said, "Our team worked hard today. At the start Connor forgot which was our goal and helped out the opposition by scoring the first goal for them oopsy. Lucky he had the jellybeans at half time so all was forgotten! The Geraldine team was great to play, the whole game was a battle up and down the field. Jaden and Rhys did some awesome defence work getting the ball back up the field, no ball would ever get past them at the back unless a plane was flying over! Noah, Connor and Jonathan are always in the midst of the action fighting for the ball and are starting to really watch the play to intercept the ball - good skills!. Michaela is starting to look for spaces and is now trying to free herself up for the pass on offence and did some great midfield work. Was great to see more marking of opposition players on defence by everyone. Was an exciting game to watch from the side, great work team!!"
Wte Giants vs Timaru City 3-0
Played on Saturday 11th June 2011
Played at Ashbury Park, Timaru at 10:00am

Manager Sharon said, "The team went out on the field ready for action after their good practice on Tuesday, passing the ball to one another was the focus this week it paid off. Brodie getting 2 of the 3 goals and passing well earned him player of the day.
Great game to watch. Keep it up Team."
Wte Thunder vs West End All Whites 1-6
Played on Saturday 11th June 2011
Played at Sir Basil Arthur Park, Timaru at 11:10am
Player of the day: Elkan
Coach Tim said, "Congratulations guys, a real improvement today. You tried real hard for the whole game and ran and ran.
There was lots of space on that big field today but once we got our offside trap going we made it tough for the opposition. A special mention to Elkan on being player of the day, showing real courage as goal-keeper after trying hard in attack in the first half. Also to Layton - you showed great ball control to score a special goal, we will practice more of that on Tuesday!"

Cuppa and Cake
Thanks to Leoner, Sandra and Kristen for their help and company on the stall today. When the sun went in it got chilly and sales of hot drinks went up!
We made over $40 today for the Club - thanks to those who supported us.
No stall next week because my three boys are all playing away.

Wte Warriors vs Temuka Wildcats 12-1
Saturday 4th June 2011
Played at Gunnion Square, Timaru at 10.40am
Coach Pam said, "The team played really well. Jordan said that Temuka were their hardest opposition yet, although the score doesn't seem to reflect that! On arriving at Gunnion square the coach of the Wild Cats told us that they had beaten a team the previous week 10-0 so it seemed we were up for a bit of a challenge. Our team did their usual strong attacking play, coming up with a few really good goals. Everyone looked happy with themselves and Temuka never gave up. The player of the day this week went to Johnny who played an awesome defensive game, well done. The goals were scored by Jack (1), Flynn (3), Jordan (3) and Daniel (5). It's the first game I've been able to watch in a while so I'm very pleased with the Warriors progress, GO THE WARRIORS!!!!!"
